INTRODUCTION:
After being present at the birth of many of puppies, there are certain
observations made, one is the syndrome of "swimmer puppies" (pectus excavatum)
This is a condition of 'so called' flat chested puppies.
They usually die anywhere from two days to four weeks of age if no
or improper intervention is attempted.
IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A SWIMMER PUPPY:
Please check out these pages of how swimmer pups
have been saved from near certain death
| The natural disposition of newborn
puppies is to nurse and sleep on their side. Puppies sleeping and nursing
only on the stomach will show signs of becoming a swimmer within hours
of birth, be vigilant, fix this before it becomes a life or death situation
