BELOW IS THE SOCK METHOD OF SAVING A PUPPY FROM ALMOST
CERTAIN DEATH
From Jenny Clark:
Condensed version.

"Use a sock that is as wide across when laying flat as the puppy is wide across the back when standing normally. (The size will depend on the size of the puppy and will need to be changed as the puppy grows. I started with kid socks).

Lay the sock flat, cut two holes in the toe of the sock. The holes should be a size to hold the sock just below the elbow comfortably. ( Too tight may cut off circulation, too loose will go above the elbows and not do what it is supposed to do.) The width is very important because it is what keeps the legs pulled down.

While the sock is still flat, cut down the middle starting from the open end and stop before you get to the end leaving enough uncut to reach the bottom of the chest to just below the elbows.

Tie the sock across the back of the shoulders and either tie the sock around the midsection or close with a loose, but snug rubber band. Do this without cutting off the puppy's circulation, but tight enough so he cannot wiggle out of it.

Stuff the sock with cotton balls between the legs and around the side of the legs. Stuff the cotton under the puppy's belly. Experiment and see what works best for you.

The puppy may still roll up on its stomach but the cotton and elbows should be holding the puppy OFF his chest. Don't worry about the rear end, it will correct itself as the chest comes down."

This may take one day to two weeks, depending on how bad your puppy is.

Good Luck!!!!

This is the method used on Lucky. His chest is dropping, his ribs rounding and he is walking all over like a normal puppy! Thanks to Jenny, Lucky has a chance to lead a normal life.

Thank you Jenny this will help a lot of people save their puppies

I received this email letter from Pauline Wood and she writes
I would like to thank you at Oak Ridge Cockers for saving the life of one little black and white English Cocker Spaniel . I have only had my computer 2 months , so to find information that would help me cure a swimmer puppy , when no one here knew what to do , I find truly amazing . I thank you from the bottom of my heart . I see Sophie at 7 weeks old , running around with her litter mates , when at 2 weeks old she faced no life at all . Once again thank you , and from now on a pair of children's socks will be part of my Cocker kit .
Best regards , and keep up the good work .
